Sustainable Seafood Cooking Class with Pamela Sheldon Johns

Join cookbook author Pamela Sheldon Johns and the Kanaloa Seafood Market, for a sustainable seafood cooking class in Santa Barbara, California.

On Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00am, Pamela will be cooking recipes from her newest book, Silver Spoon Sicily. This book is a remake of an old Italian series called Cucciaio d'Argento. The recipes are translations of the original Italian cookbook. Phaidon Press acquired the rights to publish it in English, with new text from Pamela. 

Sustainable seafood for the cooking class will be provided by Kanaloa Seafood, North America and Europe's first ISO 14001 certified seafood company. Kanaloa Seafood has been locally owned and based in Santa Barbara for thirty years. 

Reservations for the cooking class can be made by contacting Pamela Sheldon Johns by email. The class is $100 per person.

  • Arancini, fried balls of rice stuffed with cheese
  • Sfincione, focaccia topped with tomato and sautéed onion
  • Caponata, sweet and sour mixture of eggplant, tomato, celery, olives, and onions
  • Pasta con le Sarde, tossed with fresh sautéed sardines, wild fennel, saffron, raisins, pine nuts, and toasted bread crumbs
    Pesce al forno, oven baked catch of the day with Mediterranean seasonings
  • Gelato di Pistachio, pistachio gelato
